The Tsitsikamma was home to the ancient Khoisan people who called it ‘Sietsiekamma‘ or ‘place of clear water’. It is here that Judy Woodgate started a bottling plant in 1997 after discovering the high quality of spring water on her Tsitsikamma farm. Tsitsikamma Spring Water is sourced from a quartzite aquifer within the pristine Tsitsikamma Mountains. It is filtered naturally as it journeys through layers of rock which impart a delicate balance of minerals that give it its unique sweet flavour.
Today, Tsitsikamma Spring Water has diversified into an entity that not only bottles still, sparkling and flavoured water, but also manufactures its own bottles and preforms. We do this to maintain not only the unique purity of Tsitsikamma Spring Water, but also the beautiful environment which provides us with it.
Purity and Quality
Only Mother Nature occupies the area at the source of Tsitsikamma Spring Water, which is a mountainous Nature Conservation Area. There is no risk from external pollution. This sweet tasting water is filtered naturally as it journeys through the various layers of rock which impart the delicate balance of minerals that give it its unique flavour.
In order to comply with industry standards, the water is filtered again before bottled to ensure that there are no impurities and UV treated as an extra precaution. The mineral composition is in no way altered by these safety precautions. From source to bottled product, sophisticated engineering and strict process control are instrumental in ensuring the consistent purity of Tsitsikamma Spring Water. In-plant testing, off-site monitoring and external third-party auditing, ensure that the highest quality standards are met.
