SUPPORTING OUR LOCAL ECONOMY, COMMUNITY & BEYOND
When Judy Woodgate of Tsitsikamma Crystal started to bottle water her long term goal was 500 bottles per day. Ten years later she remains thankful for each day the water flows from the spring enabling her to plough back into the economy, environment and community. Tsitsikamma Crystal strives to continuously uplift our employees with our very successful Skills Development and Learnerships programmes. We employ a polio victim and a leg amputee and we are proud to have given these two disabled employees their dignity. All our staff hail from the Eastern Cape and wherever possible, equipment and vehicles are sourced locally.
Our social upliftment initiative, known as the Tsitsikamma Crystal Cares Project identifies causes that need assistance and facilitates the upliftment of these worthy causes. Since the beginning of this year, Tsitsikamma Crystal Cares has already supplied full kits (includes shirts, shorts, socks, ball & tog bag) to three soccer teams in our area. We have supplied various Action Cricket Teams with T-shirts and we are also currently assisting a local previously disadvantaged school. We uplifted this crèche by facilitating and securing donations for the development and education of these children. Sonop Kleuterskool is now fully functional with all the building blocks that these children need for a brighter future – to mention but a few: tables and chairs, puzzles and books, crayons and paint, dolls and other toys and even a computer for the teacher. We constantly make and have made numerous water donations to local and surrounding churches and organisations.
FIGHTING FOR OUR WHALES:
Did you know that because Nature gives this wonderfully pure water to us, we at Tsitsikamma Crystal in return give back to Nature by donating 1c per bottle sold to the Dolphin Action and Protection Group for their SAVE THE WHALES campaign?
The most recent contributions have played a major role in the formation of the South African Whale Disentanglement Unit (SAWDU). Your reward for supporting this worthy cause is the knowledge that you have played a role in helping with this project. And of course, you enjoy Tsitsikamma Crystal’s naturally pure, sweet taste! When Tsitsikamma Crystal was only 1 year old, we donated a porta-pool to the Port Elizabeth Oceanarium for the housing and treatment of a pygmy sperm whale which had been beached at Port Elizabeth’s Blue Horizon Bay. The money for the porta-pool was given on condition that the whale be set free once rehabilitated.
